The new generation Hyundai Tucson has matured significantly and become more proportional compared to the current ix35. In addition, wide wheel arches and structured body panels give the model a muscular and somewhat sporty look. The Koreans did not betray themselves and, as expected, installed a chrome-plated hexagonal radiator grill, characteristic of all modern models, and LED headlight optics, complemented by daytime running lights in the front bumper, as a novelty.

The overall length of the new Tucson is 4475 mm, width 1850 mm, height 1645 mm, and the wheelbase is 2670 mm. The novelty was 65 mm longer, 30 mm wider and 15 mm lower than the ix35, while the wheelbase increased by 30 mm. Despite the increased dimensions, the trunk volume has decreased from the current 730 liters to 513 liters (with the seat backs up).

Also worth noting is a completely new front panel with a wide center console and a large display of the multimedia system. The manufacturer claims that the upholstery materials have become better and more pleasant to the touch. In some markets, red leather seat trim will be available as an option.

The Tucson engine range was made up of two 1.6-liter gasoline units with a capacity of 135 or 177 hp, as well as three diesel engines with a volume of 1.7 or 2.0 liters. In the first case, the output of the motor is 115 hp, and more "voluminous" engines develop 136 and 184 hp. All engines are available with six-speed manual transmissions. There is also a 6-speed automatic for the two-liter diesels, and a new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic for the top-end 1.7-liter T-GDI.

The list of additional equipment of the novelty includes a keyless entry system, a power trunk lid with remote control from a key, a parking assistance system, improved TomTom navigation, and blind spot and road marking systems. 

The Hyundai Tucson crossover is produced in the Czech Republic.
