Hyundai Santa Fe (DM) is a front- or all-wheel drive crossover. Represents the third generation of the model, presented at the beginning of 2012. The car entered the market at the end of the same year.

Compared to its predecessor, the crossover received a number of improvements. It is not only about the updated design and interior design, but also technical changes. So, thanks to a 30% increase in the proportion of high-strength steels, the body has become 15% stiffer. It is noteworthy that, depending on the version of the Hyundai Santa Fe, it also “lost” about 100 kilograms.

Improved sound insulation. Not the last merit in this belongs to the reduced drag coefficient, which decreased from 0.38 to 0.34.

In addition, in all-wheel drive versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe, the electromagnetic clutch has given way to an electro-hydraulic one. The Magna mechanism is able not only to withstand more torque, but also to “juggle” it faster between the front and rear axles.

The range of power plants includes two motors:

• gasoline "atmospheric" with a volume of 2.4 liters (172 hp and 225 Nm) with a variable valve timing system;
• 2.2-liter turbodiesel (200 hp and 440 Nm).

The type of drive and the type of gearbox depend on the equipment: Drive, Impress, Excellent, Top and Limited. In the initial version, Santa Fe is available only with a six-speed “mechanics”, and the choice between front- or all-wheel drive is offered only for modifications with a gasoline engine (diesel versions have an all-wheel drive system by default). In all other trim levels, Santa Fe “in the base” gets a six-band “automatic” and all-wheel drive.
